The Tuck

I like to keep my hair long, but with the current season it can feel like an additional unwanted layer. I’ve started keeping my hair tucked into whatever I’m wearing, and letting it fall naturally throughout the day. This concept was recently brought to light by the Olsen twins and has been famously worn by Phoebe Philo; I appreciate the casual look that feels a bit undone.

Le Weekend XCVIII

Happy Valentine’s weekend to all who celebrate. I always make sure to stick a thoughtful card in the mail for those who have lost their spouse. It’s a fun holiday for the kids, but can be difficult for many. After a much needed digital cleansing (photos, apps, emails), I am being intentional with the brands I receive promotional emails from. Eileen Fisher’s are excellent and always provide inspiration for what I want to wear next. My son and I have a weekly tradition of going to our local library. It’s become sacrosanct — we’ve never missed a week. Happy weekend to you and yours.

Flore Flore

My favorite stylist, Reva Luft, shared her love of Flore Flore and it has me intrigued. Launched in the summer of 2021, Flore Flore is an Amsterdam-based brand founded by Flòrian van Zuilen. Informed by her international experiences working in fashion from New York to Copenhagen, she embarked on creating a line of understated chic basics. Flore Flore can also be found at Net-A-Porter, Moda Operandi and FWRD.

Colman Domingo for COS

I first discovered Colman Domingo via his Armchair Expert interview a few years ago. His recent chat with Cos is a good one. I especially enjoyed his take on the importance of small gestures – flowers, a cookie, a note. He chose what to wear for the Emmy Awards by thinking about what he’d like to see when he looks back at a picture from that night 25 years from now. I have this mindset often, which helps curate a truly timeless wardrobe.

The Cape

Not to harp on the weather, but these days I am constantly looking for chic ways to bundle up. Enter: the cape. I appreciate the clean lines and added warmth. To me, it’s a somewhat acceptable way to wear a blanket out of the house. My favorites are by Toteme, Nanushka and Zara.

Layering Turtlenecks

This winter weather has been brutal; there have been several single-digit temperature days. Toteme’s email came at the perfect time for providing inspiration on how to treat turtlenecks as a base layer and continue to wear your favorite pieces on top. I have this one in heavy rotation and Uniqlo’s HeatTech always receives rave reviews. Donni’s baby rib scallop pants are the most worn in my wardrobe and I bet the turtleneck is incredible.

Le Weekend XCVII

Heaven Mayhem has launched a micro version of my favorite earrings and I cannot wait to get my hands on them. I did not read nearly as much as I would have liked last year. I’ve started carrying my kindle as much as I carry my cell phone; I’d rather read during pockets of time instead of mindless scrolling. Heart the Lover was excellent – no wonder it’s on all of the ‘Best Book’ lists. Gypsophila (baby’s breath) is my favorite flower and I’ve taken to displaying them in every room for an instant mood booster. Have a great weekend!

Paloma Wool

Paloma Wool’s AW25 campaign really resonated with me – it’s a beautiful depiction of the reality of those newborn months. These images are such a gorgeous representation of the duality I feel in my own life: the mundane of motherhood while rediscovering my own identity.
