Recent Reads II

We are six months in to the year of good books and I just finished a great one. I devoured A Little Life and even took a day off work to read at the beach. This book left me absolutely heartbroken and I find myself polling everyone I interact with to see if they have read it so we can discuss. Since finishing it, I’m looking for lighter reads. Luckily, Elin Hilderbrand’s (last!) Nantucket novel, Swan Song is available tomorrow.

  1. I read A Little Life years ago and it stuck with me so much that I still remember details from it that crush me thinking about even today. Hands down one of the best books ever.

    1. I agree. Jude St. Francis may be my favorite fictional character of all time. I found it to be such a life-altering read. It’s reminding me to be kind to everyone I meet. We never know what someone has been through.

  2. Couldn’t agree more…I can’t say I’ve ever been as moved by a book as I was when I read A Little Life…I was convulsing as I read it. Definitely one of the best books I’ve ever read. Sadly, I didn’t care for her most recent novel. Please share any other recommendations!! I’m always looking for titles to add to my never ending read list.

    1. “Moved” is the perfect way to put it. Such an incredible book. I have a list of (almost) all of my kindle books here. Please send any of your recommendations my way!
