Le Weekend LXXIII

Happy weekend, all. I made Molly Baz’s Golden Get Well Soup this week, it was delicious and pretty easy. Bundling up the little one to burn some energy is a challenge, but always worth it. Today is my husband’s birthday and we are celebrating with a weekend of fun, food and football. Happy birthday, darling!

The Row Fall 2024

The Row’s Fall 2024 collection has the beautiful simplicity that we all know and love, but the fitted pieces are a departure from the oversized garments we have seen in past seasons. The outerwear in this collection spoke to me: the classic tailored coat, the perfectly worn-in bomber jacket, the sleek leather coat and the camel cashmere beauty. As someone who gravitates toward black evening wear, I appreciate the decision to keep things interesting with asymmetry. Season after season Neelam Ahooja continues to have the most eloquently stated reviews, which I look forward to just as much as the collection itself.

Le Weekend LXXII

I absolutely loved this Vogue article on the Mom Uniform. It’s perfectly stated and I feel as though Hayley Bloomingdale put my thoughts into words. Leaving the house in the depths of January consists of an all black outfit, which I am more than okay with. I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend checking out some of the movies on the Oscar prediction lists ahead of the nomination announcement next week. Happy weekend, all.

Greta Lee in Loewe

Awards season is upon us, and I love tuning in to the fabulous fashion found on the red carpet. Danielle Goldberg is one of my favorite stylists to follow, and her Loewe looks for Greta Lee are excellent. Each one seems to be better than the last, and I look forward to what’s to come.

The Fitted Crewneck

I tend to favor oversized sweaters worn untucked, but lately I am challenging myself to try more fitted styles tucked into trousers with a belt. It instantly elevates an outfit and looks much more polished. Cashmere is the obvious pick, but I’m partial to fitted cotton crewnecks that can be layered underneath other sweaters.

The Year of Good Books

It is only mid-January, but I have read a slew of incredible books this year. I’m making more of an effort to read before bed instead of endlessly scrolling. The Cormoran Strike series is one of my favorites. I recently finished The Ink Black Heart by Robert Galbraith and loved it. I have one book left in the series and am saving it – I will be devastated once it’s over. Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll is really good and I still find myself thinking about the characters. None of This is True by Lisa Jewell is an excellent thriller and will have you hooked until the very last page – and then some. What’s on your 2024 reading list?
