Le Weekend LXXXIX

In Vogue: The 90s premieres on Hulu today and I’m excited to tune in. I recently added a physical pinboard to my home office and it’s been a joy to hang little mementos. We have plans to stroll around the city this weekend and there’s nothing quite like New York in September. Have a great weekend with yours!

Maria McManus Spring 2025 RTW

Maria McManus described the styling of her Spring 2025 ready to wear collection as a way to inject new life into the things we already have in our closet. “We don’t always need to buy new stuff,” she said. This resonates with me and I adore all of the looks from this collection.

Individual Style

At a recent social event, I was a bit taken aback to find about a dozen women donning similar floral dresses, carrying the same Naghedi bag (in different colors) and all sporting a Cartier love bracelet. Standing there in my longline shorts, button down and loafers, I felt a bit left out, “less than” and like I missed some sort of memo. I quickly spun my internal narrative and became excited about the fact that I have my own individual style. I’m proud of the fact that I stay true to what I want to wear and don’t pay too much attention to what everybody else is wearing.

Le Weekend LXXXVIII

It’s such a good feeling to find inspiration accounts that perfectly exude your personal style. This is how I feel about @interiorjems and have spent far too long on her page. I’ve replaced a few light fixtures, swapped out some decor and am tweaking every corner of our home. I never got around to deciding on a new duffle and the Longchamp weekender keeps catching my eye. It’s durable, lightweight, and chic in it’s simplicity. Happy first NFL Sunday to all who celebrate!

By Orly

As you all know, I wear a ton of crewnecks, button downs and blazers. I’ve been looking for jewelry to make my everyday uniforms a bit more interesting. Enter: By Orly’s beaded styles. These necklaces would make a great gift to commemorate a special occasion and add a little something to an otherwise basic look for years to come.

Jennifer Alfano for Rika Studios

The recent collaboration between Jennifer Alfano and Rika Studios is right up my alley. Rika Studios vision is “To create a simple, cohesive wardrobe that will age beautifully. Designed and created consciously, worn religiously, and never to be discarded. A wardrobe to be built on slowly and maintain relevance, each piece carefully constructed and never over-designed.” Isn’t that what we’re all after? Jennifer, thank you for the impossibly chic introduction and fabulous images.

The Beige Blazer

I’ve been searching for a beige blazer. It pairs well with an all black look and pulls together blue denim and a white tee. A quick stop into Uniqlo lead me to this one (on sale for $20!) which is exactly what I was looking for. I’ve worn it much more than anticipated, and the best part is that I can throw it in my washing machine and air dry at home.

Life Lately

It’s been a busy few weeks – our household was hit with a bout of COVID, I started a new job, celebrated birthdays and anniversaries – causing August to fly by in the blink of an eye. A new job called for some shopping with my favorite item being these flats. They make my beloved Athleta pants look chic and I plan to pair them with shorts for the rest of the summer. I’m (still) trying to replace my endless scrolling with books: I loved The Power of Less and The First 90 Days to prep for the new gig. I prefer to read novels to wind down before bed and devoured Same As It Ever Was and All Fours.
