The Knee High Boot

I don’t have a good pair of knee high boots. They are very chic with midi skirts, slip dresses and, when done right, denim. This pair by Toteme hit my inbox and they are truly stunning, would be a great buy for fall.

Le Weekend LX

We are heading to Rhode Island to celebrate our anniversary. I’m looking forward to time away with good weather, good food, and most importantly, great company. Enjoy with you and yours!

Ashley Olsen Mom Style

Ashley Olsen and her husband, Louis Eisner, recently welcomed a baby boy named Otto Mozart Eisner. In typical Olsen fashion, she kept her entire pregnancy and birth of her baby quiet from the media. While I would have loved a glimpse at her maternity looks, I love and respect how private the Olsens have become after growing up in the public eye. Congratulations to the growing family!

The Boatneck

I recently found an elbow length, ribbed boatneck top from Uniqlo in the depths of my closet. The neckline is chic and feels more polished than a regular t-shirt. Most of the options on the market have a striped, nautical feel, but I prefer the solid colors. Ralph Lauren is the only fitted, elbow sleeve style I could find, but Eileen Fisher has a looser fitting style and Mango has a wide assortment.

Repurchases

There are too many products on the market and not enough time to see what works and what doesn’t. I stick with products that work for me and am usually replenishing before it’s time. A few repurchases are: my favorite deodorant (aluminum free here), these sheet masks and this SPF. What items do you always have on hand?

Chava

Chava is a new-to-me family business and their story really resonated with me. Chava strives to “preserve some of the craftsmanship that goes into clothing: From fine fabrics developed by small mills to shirt making techniques that are difficult to replicate by commercial grade machines.” They produce less than 20 garments per week to ensure they allot time and care to every piece and the seamstresses work in an environment that values their skill and the time involved in production. In the world of America’s fast fashion consumerism, it’s a breath of fresh air to be reminded that places like this still exist.

Carla Bruni

Carla Bruni recently came across my feed and I enjoyed perusing her minimal-chic looks from the nineties. Many of her pieces are so simple and look just as good today. I strive for timelessness within my wardrobe and turn to past decades (usually the nineties) when searching for inspiration.
