Loewe Fall 2023

The Loewe Fall 2023 show was full of leather, oversized bags and garments printed on garments. This look has really stuck with me – the oversized cardigan with matching bottoms is right up my alley. I fully support the large tote trend to make schlepping all of my belongings somewhat chic. Shop Loewe here.

Pant Shape

As someone who is petite, I typically stick with what’s flattering – fitted or skinny pants that hit just above the ankle. Lately, I’ve been experimenting with pant shape and trying more bootcut and wide leg styles at different lengths. I love how it elongates the leg and is a welcome change to my daily uniform.

Le Weekend XLVI

I’ve been feeling nostalgic for the newspaper lately. The news is constantly bombarding us and it’s overwhelming – I prefer a simpler time. We’re in the thick of March Madness which is always fun. I have a lot going on this weekend, but my uniform of denim and loafers will carry me through. Happy weekend!

The Row Winter 2023

The Row continues to be perfectly subtle. Sarah Mower put it perfectly – “They combine elegance, comfort, and a reliable modern system for dealing with whatever winter weather throws at us. It’s very New York. No one in luxury fashion is doing this as well as The Row.” I can see myself in all of these luxurious looks and will be investing in longline leather gloves stat.

95th Academy Awards

Award show fashion is typically hit or miss, but I loved many of the looks on the 95th Academy Awards red carpet. Andie MacDowell in Saint Laurent – she brought her daughter, who is my age, but I much prefer Andie’s mature and sophisticated look; Emily Blunt in Valentino is a look I would wear if I were given the opportunity to present at the Oscars; Danai Gurira in Jason Wu is simply fabulous. Call me crazy, but I love seeing what the men wear to award shows – there’s nothing chicer than a tuxedo (see: Sarah Polley in Saint Laurent).

Clean Laundry

I recently realized a habit of mine that had me curious if others are the same way. When laundry is (finally) done, everything hung, folded and put away, do you find yourself reaching for the same piece(s)? For me, I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair of jeans that fit me just so and a cotton sweater with chunky rib stitch at the crew neckline, along the hem, and sleeve cuffs. It’s a great uniform look for this time of year that lets me switch it up depending on the shoe and bag choice.
