Le Weekend XIX

The temps dropped earlier this week, which lead to our first crockpot meal of the season. We make this crockpot chicken taco chili often – it is so good. During the cold snap I realized that I didn’t have any warm shoes for quick errands or walking the dog. I got these ultra mini Uggs in black (of course) and have been wearing them non-stop since they arrived. The Row recently launched their first fragrance, a trio of hand-blended oils exploring the elusive essence of Sandalwood, created in collaboration with L’Oeil du Vert. I can’t wait to check them out. Have a wonderful weekend!

Ashley Olsen 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards

Not everyone “gets” Olsen style, but I think it’s everything. Ashley Olsen stunned at the 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards last week – I love her head-to-toe black ensemble, simple makeup and easy waves. The ankle length tailored jacket and minimal clutch completes the look and has inspired me to try similar styling.

Size Matters

This should be the last time you hear me mention The Row Park Tote, as I’ve finally found it on the secondhand market. Both sizes are available, and I’m torn between the regular tote and the XL tote. The regular tote looks just a tad too small, and I’m leaning towards the XL tote that has snaps on the side to collapse it down and make it a bit more compact when needed. All thoughts and opinions are welcome!

Le Weekend XVIII

This Cos longline leather blazer is not my typical style, but I can’t stop thinking about it; it would look great paired with denim and a fabulous pair of shoes. My recent post on Joan Didion reminded me of her perfect ad campaign for Celine by Phoebe Philo – I can only hope I’m half as chic at her age. My home office is getting an upgrade and it seems like the perfect place for the Pierre Jeanneret chair I’ve been lusting over for quite some time. Have a wonderful weekend!

+J F/W 2021

+J, Jil Sander’s ongoing collaboration with Uniqlo, is launching the F/W 2021 collection online and in stores this morning. The +J collections tend to sell out very quickly, so be sure to scoop up anything that catches your eye. I love the detailing on the Premium Lambswool Cable High Neck Long-Sleeve Sweater and the ribbing on the Middle Gauge Cashmere Blend Turtleneck Long-Sleeve Sweater is perfect. The Cashmere Blend Collarless Coat is my favorite piece in this collection – it has the easy, unstructured neckline that I’ve been hunting for. Shop the +J F/W 2021 collection here.

Trousers

While I’m usually in straight leg denim, I’m trying to make more of an effort to invest in quality trousers. They make me feel put together, and in some cases can be more comfortable than jeans. Trousers look great with slingbacks and mules, but can just as easily be paired with ballet flats and loafers.

Gunnar Nylund Chamotte Vases

I recently spotted the Gunnar Nylund Chamotte vases on @emmadahl1’s beautiful Instagram feed and was immediately obsessed. I went down a rabbit hole learning about the history of these vases and would love to add one (or two) to my collection. The intricate detail and rough surface is so interesting and looks great on it’s own or holding a delicate stem.
