Giorgio Armani

Call me crazy, but I get much of my style inspiration from men of a certain age. Giorgio Armani is at the top of my list, as he always sticks to the classics and never looks dated. He gravitates toward dark colors, crew necks, sneakers, and always a watch. I’ve mentioned Vogue’s recent profile on him before and I keep finding myself coming back to it. I just discovered he has a stunning coffee table book that needs to be added to my collection.

Le Weekend XVI

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were recently spotted stepping out in New York for a smoke break. Mary Kate tends to take more risks with her fashion choices, while Ashley sticks to neutral colors and classic silhouettes. Both of these longline coats with practical footwear give me inspiration for the season ahead. We have a few home renovation projects underway, and I can’t wait until they’re complete so I can style all of the corners with books and artwork. Hoping we get a bunch of cute trick-or-treaters this weekend, Happy Halloween!

By Malene Birger S/S 2022

Maja Dixdotter has done it again with her sophomore collection. I appreciate the fact that comfort is important to her, and that she uses the confidence of older people as inspiration. The majority of the collection transitions easily from the couch to the social calendar, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for By Malene Birger.

Sofia Coppola

Sofia Coppola, American filmmaker and actress, is at the top of my style inspiration list; she sticks to classic looks comprised of denim, crewnecks, oversized button downs and practical footwear. Sofia carries her personal style into her work, and I especially loved the wardrobe choices in her 2020 film On The Rocks. I still love the Coppola bag that Sofia designed for Louis Vuitton – it debuted more than a decade ago and looks just as good today, further proving that her sense of style stands the test of time.

The Cartier Tank Watch

The Cartier Tank watch is one of the most classic timepieces, proven by the fact that it’s been worn by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Diana, Princess of Wales and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. I am just starting to research the incredible history behind this iconic piece, the different variations and the options available. Cartier currently has the Tank Must Watch available for sale on their website, but I’m scouring the secondhand market for a Tank with gold hardware and the slightly smaller face.

Designer Duffle

I’ve had a vegan leather duffle bag for about a decade and it’s starting to fall apart at the seams. I want to invest in a designer duffle that will last me forever – I’m thinking either leather or canvas. The men’s department seems to have tons of options such as Prada, Tom Ford and Bottega Veneta. The Row recently debuted their weekender, but it looks like it’s on the small side. A few budget friendly options I’m eyeing are Leatherology and Cuyana.
