CO Essentials

CO’s website explains CO Essentials as “A streamlined collection of wardrobe staples designed for the way the modern woman works, dresses and values her time. Comprised of thirty seasonless brand classics, Essentials are thoughtfully priced and available year round. While Essentials represent a pared-down approach to dressing, each piece maintains the elements of novelty, femininity and timelessness that is central to the brand’s DNA.” This is exactly what I strive for in my own wardrobe, and I look forward to shopping this permanent collection for years to come.

Diana, Princess of Wales

Last week marked what would have been Princess Diana’s 60th birthday, which was commemorated with a beautiful statue unveiling. Her 90’s style was simple, unfussy and incredibly chic. I still turn to photos of her when looking for timeless outfit inspiration.

Beach Bag

I haven’t been able to find The Row XL Park Tote anywhere, and after (much) consideration I don’t think that the leather base would make for a practical beach bag; I would be devastated when it eventually got wet. I paid a visit to my local Saks expecting to walk out with the Saint Laurent Panier tote in black, but the round base doesn’t collapse – it sticks out very far from the body even when empty. My sales associate recommended the Loewe Raffia Basket Tote and I immediately understood why it’s a cult favorite; I just need to find it with black leather trim which is proving challenging. Celine also has some great raffia bags – I had no idea that the Big Bag came in this texture. The search continues.

Fourth of July

The Fourth of July is my favorite holiday. Summertime, sunshine, good food and good friends, celebrating the independence of our country. I hope everyone in the states has an excellent long weekend.

Nili Lotan Resort 2022

Nili Lotan is a somewhat new-to-me designer and I like what I am seeing. Her designs seem to be made up of uniform pieces (button downs, jeans, blazers, sweaters) in a black and white color palette. I love her use of longline shorts and I am in agreement that they can be dressed up or down – see my post here.

Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren is incredibly chic and I cannot imagine American fashion without him. Whether he is dressed in denim on denim (on denim), in a shirt and tie, or a tuxedo, he exudes the American Dream lifestyle that he has built and defined throughout the course of his life. I highly recommend HBO’s 2019 documentary, Very Ralph, if you haven’t already tuned in.

Signature Scent

Chloe Eau de Parfum is part of my daily routine. I keep the roller ball in my purse, the 1.7 oz in my travel bag and the 4.2 oz in my vanity. I apply it every single day, whether I’m leaving the house or not. A friend of mine recently smelled Chloe Eau de Parfum in the elevator of a wedding venue and knew that I was there. What can I say, it’s my signature scent.
