Le Weekend III

I took a trip to Barnes and Noble this week to stock up on fashion magazines, which got me thinking about making the switch to digital subscriptions. It’s convenient (and sometimes cost effective), but there’s just something about flipping through a physical magazine. Highly recommend this chic article on why The Row is the go-to label for New York’s most stylish tastemakers. With a busy weekend coming up, I’m planning on packing my Manolo Blahnik Callamus; they are versatile enough to wear with a slip dress to a wedding and with denim and a blazer to a 30th birthday party.

Finishing Touches

Toteme is about modern uniform dressing, which really resonates with me and the limited number of items that make up my wardrobe. With the right pieces, it’s easy to mix and match for all seasons. Toteme recently launched a handful of accessories with their finishing touches edit – I’m eyeing the leather pouch.

Phoebe Philo I

When looking for inspiration, I turn to photos of Phoebe Philo wearing her own designs for Celine. She takes the simplest pieces and styles them in a way that is sophisticated, yet attainable, for the busy everywoman. There are rumors circulating that she is behind a new “luxury, eco-conscious” line and I sincerely hope that it’s true.

Le Weekend II

@parisiensinparis is a tres chic Instagram account to follow; the fashion is so incredibly effortless. I’ve finally started The Crown – I like to watch an episode while on the treadmill with my Bala Bangles. British Vogue first published this article on Giorgio Armani in December 2019 and I keep finding myself coming back to it; he is such an inspiration to live life in a way that is “natural, sophisticated, timeless”. Hoping you all have a wonderful weekend.

+J S/S 2021

In 2009, UNIQLO and legendary fashion designer Jil Sander launched +J. It challenged conventions in its mission to improve your everyday with thoughtful, accessible, and high-quality pieces. The line continues to define the modern wardrobe with new purpose and meaning for today. While most +J S/S 2021 pieces sold out instantly when they first launched, there is a restock arriving today, May 13, mid-morning EST. Shop the restock at Uniqlo.

Halston

Admittedly, I don’t know much about Halston, except for how he tragically lost his life. I am looking forward to learning more about him in the five episode Netflix series that premieres this Friday, May 14. I’m excited to follow the story of how he defined New York in the seventies and eighties and changed American fashion forever. Shop Halston. Watch the Halston trailer.

Wear and Tear

Jane Birkin once said, “Any bag that’s with me will take the same course as I will. It will take the same airplanes and will be squashed in the same way and will be used as a cushion in the airports.” This perspective has stuck with me over the years; we should strive to use our luxury items in our day-to-day lives while keeping them well-maintained so that they last a lifetime. What’s the point of spending a pretty penny on a designer handbag only for it to sit in the closet and never see the light of day? The Kelly shown above depicts my mindset perfectly. Life has flaws, and so should our bags.
