Country jackets are everywhere this year. I grabbed this one a few seasons ago and it gets a lot of wear. My husband has the classic Barbour jacket and loves it, it will never go out of style. I tend to pair mine with denim and knits for weekend fall activities.
My weekend mornings are spent at the playground with my toddler. In the summertime, it was easy to find a flip flop or a slide that was appropriate and went with my uniform of relaxed pants and a crew neck. The cooler temps have made it challenging to find a shoe that would be playground appropriate. Sneakers are easy, but I prefer a more polished look and my Gucci loafers wouldn’t fare well in the woodchips. I considered Sambas and Birkenstock Boston clogs, but neither felt like me. Enter: the knit loafer. I think this is the fine line between casual and refined that I was looking for, and the fact that they are machine washable is an added bonus.

This hat is still going strong and you can find me in it most weekends. The Row has such a beautiful ability to combine the structure and softness that I look for in my handbags. I’ve read some great books lately and I recommend The Wedding People and Husbands and Lovers. Have a wonderful weekend.
Toteme’s Summer 2025 collection debuted at NYFW last week and I could not get enough of the footage; the handbags and jewelry are really good. Elin Kling believes it’s how you style pieces that brings newness. “The color palette is very black and white; that’s what I wear a lot myself. I like the play of how you bring fabrics together, how you can get this saturation from black suede, and then if you wear a black cotton trouser, you get a sort of washed effect. I feel like you don’t need [lots of] color if you don’t want to because you have texture.”

Alyssa Wasko, founder and designer at Donni, is an excellent follow on Instagram. Her looks are exactly my style and her wardrobe is made up of classic pieces. I appreciate how she pairs high-end accessories with affordable basics, such as her Hermes Calya mules with her L.L. Bean tote. Her watch is permanently attached to her wrist, as is mine.

The older I get, the more I love a collared neckline. As the temperatures start to drop I’m looking for polo necks made out of a knit material. Tucked into trousers with a belt is trending this season, but I also like it untucked with a more relaxed pant. Elbow length (here and here) is my preferred style but it looks great with short sleeves and long sleeves, too.

I celebrated a birthday this past weekend and I typically use the day as an opportunity to gift myself something I’ve been eyeing. This allows me to get what I really want and my loved ones will treat me to an experience or a good meal instead of a gift. It started with my first luxury purchase, the Givenchy Antigona, for my twenty-fifth and the tradition has continued into my thirties with special pieces such as my Hermes Orans, my watch or a new bag. Some considerations this year are the Dragon Diffusion Santa Croce, the Toteme T-Lock or a piece by Savette.

In Vogue: The 90s premieres on Hulu today and I’m excited to tune in. I recently added a physical pinboard to my home office and it’s been a joy to hang little mementos. We have plans to stroll around the city this weekend and there’s nothing quite like New York in September. Have a great weekend with yours!
